My biggest lessons of 2023
This morning, I have been reflecting on the lessons this year. There have been many and some more challenging than others.
Here are some of the lessons and I hope they can help you in some way.
1. You don’t need to accept every opportunity:
Opportunities will constantly be presented to you. When it sounds good, our first inclination is to say ‘yes.’ When it excites us, we are looking only at the upsides to the opportunity. However, every opportunity has benefits and drawbacks, and the key is to determine if it truly is the right fit for you.
I have turned down opportunities because they are not in alignment with who I am today. Have I missed out? No, because the best opportunities are yet to come and I want to make space for them.
2. Be conscious of your changing values:
Our values, what is most important to us, constantly change and shift. What was important to you in the past may not be today.
My top values have remained consistent over the years, but there are parts of my life that are evolving and changing, and this is going to require adjustments.
It is wise to get clear on your shifting values so you can live authentically.
3. Tech neck is real:
Spending too much time on small screens can have physical ramifications.
I have developed terrible pain in the neck (ha) from too much small screen time. It means I will be making more adjustments to my lifestyle and business going forward because I don’t want to live in pain.
4. You can transform your life at any point:
First, you need to decide. A decision starts the process. If you are not feeling fulfilled, decide that you are going to find the answers and take a step in that direction.
There is no magic wand, but there is magic to be created when we step into doing and being what we love.
Wishing you an inspiring 2024 filled with love, joy – and magic.✨
Love,
Shannon
